Sapphic Effect
    Our Story

For everyone who knows these stories matter

    From one fan to another,

I've spent most of my life searching for sapphic stories. If there was a show, movie, book, or comic where women loved women, I wanted to find it. Whether it came from the United States, Thailand, Europe, or anywhere else in the world, I was always looking for stories that made me feel seen. Over time, I realized I wasn't just searching for stories — I was searching for a community that understood why they mattered.

Then Thai GL happened. Series like GAP, Show Me Love, 23.5, and The Secret of Us, along with couples like FreenBecky, EngLot, MilkLove, and LingOrm, helped transform the genre into a global community.

That's why I created Sapphic Effect: not as another news page or reaction channel, but as a home where fans can discover new stories, share reviews and theories, make friends, and celebrate sapphic media together. We start with Thai GL because that's where our journey began, but our vision has always been much bigger — to build the home for sapphic media fans everywhere.

    With love,

    Andrea
    Founder, Sapphic Effect

    Why This Name

    Why "Sapphic Effect"?

    Stories end. Their impact doesn't.

We named this place after the part nobody puts in the credits: the friend you met because you couldn't stop talking about a finale, the theory that turned into an all-night conversation, the confidence you found after finally seeing yourself reflected in a story, or the moment you realized you weren't the only person who felt so deeply about fictional characters.

The stories matter, but what they leave behind matters just as much. Every series introduces us to new worlds and unforgettable characters, but their greatest impact is the people they bring together. Communities form, friendships grow, and fans create something far bigger than any single show could ever be on its own.

That's the Sapphic Effect—the ripple effect these stories create long after the credits roll. The conversations that never really end. The connections that cross countries and cultures. The feeling of finally finding people who understand exactly why these stories matter as much as you do. Because a story may only last a few hours, but its effect can last a lifetime.

    Founder & CEO

Andrea has spent her whole life chasing sapphic stories—shows, movies, books, and comics from every corner of the world. When Thai GL turned a quiet corner of fandom into a global phenomenon, she realized what was missing wasn't more content. It was a home.

So she built one. Sapphic Effect is her love letter to the fans: the watchers, the theorists, the collectors, the delulu, and everyone in between.
